Well Ladies and Gentlemen the countdown has reached a high point. Today marks only 2 more weeks until I am in Italy! The past few months have been a bit of a blur to really look back on. Days filled with lists, shopping, and most of all Italian homework. Yes Italian homework for no credit. I'm not even sure if Professor Checca even looks it over, but oh well it has to be done. In the past few months I have tried to say goodbye to all the people I love. I have made a trip down to Sullivan, Illinois to see my moms side of the family to say what I thought would be my last goodbye before I left. It turns out that I am going down there this weekend with my parents, 2 younger brothers and younger sister for my grandpa's birthday. This will be fantastic! I cant wait to see my family one last time. Hopefully we can get together with my dad's side of the family so I could see them before I leave too. I also got to spend a week with my brother who lives in California. He wants me to buy him stuff for his bikes while I'm in Italy. I guess we will see how that goes for him.
Last weekend had to be one of the best weekends I have had in a while! I got the chance to spend the weekend at good old Saint Mary's! And to make it even better not only did I spend the weekend there but my roommate Alex got to go and our fantastic friend Catherine got to be there too. It was great to get to spend time with my future roommates and best friends, but the weekend was way too short. I wish we had more time to spend there. The only downside to the weekend was how horrible Notre Dame played during their football game. It's hard enough not being in the student section this year after the fabulous time I had there last year, but seeing how bad they played the first half of the game was torture. Good thing my dad got me a ticket for the next home game which is the Saturday before I leave! The worst part of the weekend was when I had to leave. It wasn't too hard saying goodbye to Alex because I'll see her in 2 weeks and it wasn't too bad saying bye to my future roommates because I'm going to be there on the 16 for one last night at SMC before I leave for 3 months. The hardest past was saying goodbye to Catherine who I will not see for 4 months unless we decide on a weekend to meet up either in Paris or if she comes to visit me and Alex in Rome. It was also very hard to say goodbye to all of the girls at SMC who I won't see until next January. I'm hoping to make it to ISI at least once in the next 2 weeks because I haven't seen anyone from ISI since May before everyone went home for the summer. It would be way too hard to not see them until January.
I want the nest two weeks to fly be so I cant get to school already. I never thought I would say that but it is true. I have never been more excited to go to school in my life! I am tired of being the only one at home during the day because everyone else is either at school or at work. I just want to be there so I can explore and have the time of my life. But on the other hand I really feel like I am not ready to go. I haven't even started packing yet and I don't even know what I really need. I mean I have clothes and stuff like that but I don't know what else I will need. I haven't bought a train pass yet for my other trips I am going on with Alex. I haven't gotten any school supplies yet. I don't even know anything about my class schedule or how I get my books yet. I have a lot to do in the next two weeks. Let's hope I can get it all done!
Only 2 short weeks to go and I cannot wait!
